Warming Up the Mountain With a Fresh Cup of Coffee

As Californians scurried to find umbrellas and stay dry the last three weeks from torrential rain storms, the McMullen Brothers were firing up their roasters to provide fresh roasted coffee for world class ski resort Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain Ski Resorts in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.

According to Mitch McMullen, co-founder of the Newhall Coffee Roasting Company, this is the second year in a row, the micro-roaster has been contracted to provide fresh cups of coffee to skiers, in a dozen locations at both of these resorts

"We worked hard last ski season to earn a "can do" reputation providing the coffee needs of skiers and our hard work was rewarded," said Kyle McMullen, co-founder of the Newhall Coffee Roasting Company. "As a micro roaster in the Southern California area, we have the ability to roast and ship our beans within a three-day period, making our coffee the freshest roasted coffee Mammoth Mountain skiers will ever taste. We take our orders on Monday, roast on Tuesday and Wednesday, and ship on Thursday.

"We are excited about the phenomenal opportunity to serve the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort a second year in a row," said Mitch McMullen. "It's an opportunity to continue to brand our name and superior taste, as well as show the public that a small roasting company is able to compete with the mega coffee providers. Mammoth Mountain is helping to support the California economy by choosing a California-based coffee roasting company. One of our Governor's priorities is keeping business in California and encouraging California businesses to conduct business with other California businesses, thus building a stronger economy. We all know Starbucks is located in Seattle Washington."

"In a number of ways we are the "little coffee company that could" because we have grown from the Java 'n Jazz Coffeehouse that opened 12 years ago this May, to a multimillion dollar coffee roasting company which is serving one of the nation's largest ski resorts, selling its coffee in Costco, Ralphs, Vons, Pavilions, and the Bi-Lo grocery chain in the eastern part of the United States," said Kyle McMullen.
