Part of proceeds from blends, in partnership with The WAVE, will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.

The Newhall Coffee Roasting Co. and The WAVE, KTWV 94.7, have partnered together to produce six new “Smooth Java Blends” premium coffees sold excessively at Pavilions Southern California grocery stores.

The new blends include: Custom Blend; Expresso Roast; French Roast; Hawaiian Hazelnut; Vanilla Nut; and Decaffeinated Colombian Supremo.

Mitch McMullen, co-founder of Newhall Coffee, said a percentage of the coffee sales will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation to honor his older brother Corey McMullen, who died from leukemia.

“The Newhall Roasting Co. was established in the memory of our older brother— Corey,” said McMullen. “We hope to honor is memory by raising money to fund research to fight this terrible disease.”

McMullen and his other brother Kyle McMullen— co-founder of Newhall Coffee— said they have a set a long-term goal of raising $1 million.

Greg Schoenbaum, a spokesman for The WAVE, said the “Smooth Java Blends” were chosen as the official coffee of The WAVE because jazz and the new coffee are a perfect match.

“We share many characteristics with the Newhall Coffee Roasting Co. brand,” Schoenbaum said. “Our mission is to take great music from diverse origins to offer our listeners a rich and smooth listening experience. The McMullen brothers value the same approach in the way they mirco-roast top quality beans from diverse origins.”

Meg Roundy, spokeswoman for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America, said, “We’re honored to be working with the Newhall Roasting Co. and we appreciate the personal stake that Mitch and Kyle have in the success of this program.”
