“As my husband is preparing for deployment, he received a care package from the base's family support center. A serving of your Patriot Blend was included, I brewed it this morning. It was the best cup of coffee I have had, and I'm picky, I only started drinking coffee within the past year. “The 55 Combat Engineers of the 732nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, Detachment 6 and its five 732nd ECES Staff member greatly appreciated the gift boxes you provided. We cannot begin to express the level of happiness and gratitude exhibited throughout our organization when your packages arrived. Our men and women were completely blown away by your generosity and thoughtfulness put into the packages by Operation Gratitude Personnel. The whole organization was electrified…every member could not wait to receive his or her gift box. The atmosphere resembled Christmas morning for a few days. “I wanted to thank you for your Patriot Blend packets. My wife is in Iraq and received a few. Unfortunately, she's not a Coffee drinker and exported them to Germany for me to try. Needless to say, I'm hooked.” “It is impossible to express fully our thanks to all of you for the packages we received these past two weeks. We have only been here in Iraq for about a month, and many of us are still dealing with the initial shock of being separated from our friends and loved ones. The individual care that we felt with each package was exactly what we needed to raise our spirits and make home feel a little closer. The nutrition bars and energy drinks are a Godsend on convoys, since most times we are on the r o d for 10 or more hours for several days in a row. Of course the coffee was a big hit, and the CD's and DVD's are circulating throughout our unit, watched by all. I'm sure our families are thankful as well, since many of them experienced an influx of cards sent home to them, thanks to the blank ones we all had in our box! We are honored that you all would take time out of your busy lives and routines to put together so many of those care packages. We know there are many people supporting us, and for so many people to come together and show it like you all do makes our job worth doing. Your prayers, thoughts, and support are felt every day over here. Most importantly, thank you for your prayers on our behalf. May God bless you and the ministry you provide! God bless America! “ “We are the 31st Combat Support Hospital (CSH), a medical unit originally from Ft Bliss (El Paso), TX and deployed to Iraq. We are located at the most southern part of Iraq, near the port, Umm Qasr. Some of us are from Ft Bliss along with soldiers attached to us from different parts of the U.S. Our current mission is Detainee healthcare, providing medical care to prisoners originally from Abu Graraib. We are the largest detainee prison in theater. We have been in Iraq for a little over 6 months now. Our total deployment time will be 15 months. “Our unit will be leaving Iraq in a few weeks. I just wanted to thank
you for your support of all soldiers over here. Your care packages
helped lift moral here greatly and you should know helped save the
life of a young soldier. We had a soldier who never got mail, care
packages, or anything. Had not much family and as it turns out was planning on
suicide on Christmas, but because that soldier received your care
package it was like a Christmas gift. It made the soldier change his mind.
The soldier now writes letters to and emails folks whose names were
in the box and the soldier's attitude and out look on life has really
improved. This is not a story--it is true. We found out when the
soldier finally opened up and talked to the Chain of Command about what
was going thru his mind and got help for his depression. Your care
package made a major difference in a human life. Because of your
organization one less family received terrible news at Christmas time.
This has been my third deployment here and I remember how on my first
deployment, I almost never got mail and then received a care package
from your group. It made me feel much better about being separated from
my loved ones.” |
